Volunteers required one Friday afternoon a month, 2.15 -4.15

Venue -Ben Rhydding Methodist Church Hall in a warm and comfortable room. Free parking available

Ilkley Stroke Club is friendly, often humorous and always warm-hearted group which has been running in Ilkley for over 40 years. Its purpose it enable stroke survivors, be it for many years or from a much more recent stroke to meet, take part in some activities, and most importantly, share experiences with fellow survivors. Members come primarily from the Ilkley area but others travel significant distances to take part in this rare provision.

There are about 20 members currently and usually about 15 come to each meeting. In addition, it has run with a group of 7 volunteers, most of whom have many years' service because of the pleasure and satisfaction that comes from being part of this happy club.

For the saddest of reasons our volunteer numbers have dropped suddenly and we urgently need to recruit new ones.

Maybe you have personal experience of knowing a stroke survivor, or you like joining in a range of activities with the members. Perhaps you find fulfilment in helping serve simple refreshments - always a hit with the members- and clearing away. Or maybe you like to have the opportunity to sit and talk quietly to someone who may be feeling low that day. One of our more recent volunteers has exceptional musical and artistic talents. Whatever you feel you can contribute we would gladly welcome you.

You'll be relieved to know that no fund raising is involved, that side is sorted.
